Jelena Šiljeg discovered her affinity for chamber music and especially German art songs during her studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where she completed her graduate and specialist piano studies. She continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, studying under Prof. David Lutz and enrolling in the Piano-Vocal Accompaniment program. She obtained her master’s degree there in 2011, graduating with honors. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Arts in Belgrade (Serbia). She further honed her skills through workshops with professors and pianists like Arbo Valdma, Rita Kinka, Jokut Mihajlović and Dmitrij Bashkirov.

Her performance career is predominantly focused on collaboration with vocal artists, and she is often engaged as pianocollaborator in the region.
She has performed throughout Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Macedonia, Greece, collaborating with distinguished artists. She has had notable performances at events including the Theater City Budva Festival (Montenegro), Operosa (HercegNovi, Montenegro), Barski Ljetopis (Bar, Montenegro), BUNT 07 (Belgrade), “Tournee” 2019 (Barletta, Italy), Chopin Fest (Belgrade), and others.
She was engaged in the musical preparation of Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute” at the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre in Belgrade, as well as in the preparation of Felix Mendelssohn’s musical stage piece “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. at the Operosa Festival in 2019. She collaborated with one of the most significant contemporary vocal artists, mezzo-soprano Marjana Lipovšek, as a piano collaborator in her masterclass during the BUNT 07 festival.

In recent years, she has dedicated significant attention to promoting and nurturing Serbian, especially contemporary artistic music. She participated in the recording of the compact disc “Selected Works by Aleksandar S. Vujić,” released in Belgrade in 2019 (live recording).
For the French record label Anima Records Paris, she released the CD “Melancholy” in 2023, featuring selected art songs by R. Schumann, including the cycle Poet’s Love, with the Chinese baritone Hongyu Chen.
